Anna Sophie has completed a six-year medical school program at the University of Kiel, Germany and has earned a doctoral title (Dr. med.) at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology in Kiel, Germany with the following thesis: p16(INK4a) overexpression predicts translational active human papillomavirus infection in tonsillar cancer.
For her residency training, she completed a 5-year program in Otorhinolaryngology at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf and the University Medical Center in Lübeck, Germany.
Since October 2015 she works as an attending physician at the University Hospital in Hamburg-Eppendorf. She is in charge of the rhinology and allergy clinic as well as the surgeries in this field (endoscopic sinus surgery etc.).
She also leads the interdisciplinary treatment of children with lysosomal metabolic diseases in cooperation with the pediatric clinic for lysosomal storage diseases. One of the collaboration’s research projects is to look at smell and taste disorders in children with Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS).
