Bianca Link started her medical training at Medical College, University of Cologne, Germany, completing her dissertation at Ruprecht-Karls-University, Heidelberg in 2003.  After several positions as a student assistant and various internships she became Resident doctor at the Department for Thoracic Surgery, Thoraxklinik, Heidelberg.  Between 2003-2006 she was the Interdisciplinary Resident doctor at the Orthopaedic Department and Children’s Hospital, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, before becoming a resident doctor at the Villa Metabolica, Clinical and research centre for lysosomal storage disorders at the same hospital. Between September 2010 and March 2016 she was Specialist registrar, Division of Metabolic Diseases and Connective tissue unit, University Children's Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland.

Since April 2016 to the present time, Dr Link has been a Senior Physician in the Division of Metabolic Diseases and Connective tissue unit, University Children's Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland.

Dr Link’s research within the Department of Metabolic Diseases focuses on selected rare, hereditary metabolic and connective tissue diseases. The most important aspects are the recognition of new defects and malfunctions as well as the development of new therapeutic approaches. The aim is to improve the quality of life of those affected.
