Roberto Giugliani, Full Professor of Genetics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, is a medical geneticist who founded the Medical Genetics Service of Hospital de Clinicas of Porto Alegre, co-founded Casa dos Raros, and is Head of Rare Diseases at Dasa Genomics. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening, and past President of the Latin American Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Newborn Screening. Prof. Giugliani’s main interests are concentrated in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of inborn errors of metabolism, particularly of lysosomal storage diseases.
