Paediatric Endocrinologist, Consultant in General Paediatrics, San Gerardo University Hospital, Monza, ITALY

Alessandro Cattoni is a consultant in general paediatrics and paediatric endocrinology at San Gerardo University Hospital, Monza (Italy). He graduated in medicine and specialized in Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy). As he soon developed an interest for paediatric endocrinology, he spent part of his training working as a clinical fellow in paediatric endocrinology at Saint Georges’ University Hospital and at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London.

In the setting of paediatric endocrinology, his clinical and research activity has focused on chemo- and radiotherapy-induced endocrine sequelae of antineoplastic treatment in childhood cancer survivors and he leads a long-term endocrine follow-up service dedicated to survivors of haemato-oncological disorders and to patients treated in childhood with haematopoietic stem cell transplantation for several clinical indications. In addition, his current areas of interest include the endocrine care and treatment of children with inborn errors of metabolism and syndromic conditions.
