One important finding to look for is this atlantoaxial instability. Those are the first two cervical vertebrae which can become very unstable and children might have severe damage to the spine if they are not handled properly.  This is something the pediatrician needs to know.  When you have a child with lysosomal storage disease you always have to check the cervical spine and you have to instruct the parents to handle the child carefully, with no abrupt changes in position. Using a car seat can be detrimental if the car stops abruptly. There are certain precautions that the parents need to take to prevent injury to the spinal cord.
